Inspired by Nature

I’m Polly, a fashion designer, farmer and animal lover based in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

From an early age, I have always loved animals and been creative, however I started my career as a Research Chemist working in the oil industry.

I was very lucky to be living near to London at the time of making the decision to change my career and was delighted to be accepted to study Womenswear for 3 years at the London College of Fashion.

After graduating, I founded Bridal Covered Buttons and spent over 5 years designing and making bridal wear.  My attention to every little detail, the quality of the materials used, and my ability to match the items to colours and make bespoke items for clients have become Bridal Covered Buttons trademark.

In May 2012 my husband secured a new job and we moved to a smallholding in Aberdeenshire. At the time I had four border collies and although I love animals I had no intention of keeping livestock.  Famous last words, the grass in the fields grew rapidly and I soon realised I needed some help.

Reinforcements arrived in the autumn of that year - three Angora goats and five sheep and from there my “woolly” family grew. I am pictured here with Parsley one of my first Angora goats. Rosemary and Parsley turned 13 years old in March 2023.

I’m most at peace and free when outside in the fields…my soul belongs there with the animals. I love nothing more than sharing a cuppa and a ginger nut or three with my goats and sheep as the sun rises over the hillside in the morning before work.

Responsibly Sourced

Locally Made

I am really excited to introduce my new bridal accessories range “The Finishing Touch” specialising in handcrafted pieces in a vintage modern style.

With a commitment to sustainability, all pieces are designed and made by me here in my studio on the smallholding, either from my own wool and mohair (www.pollyreidstyle.co.uk) and like all of my other products from responsibly sourced recycled materials. I have designed each of the pieces with the intention of creating beautiful products that can be passed down through the generations, with minimal waste and minimal carbon footprint.
